Learn about our process

While every single project is unique to each of our clients, we follow a clear process so you and our team are always on the same page.

Step 1

Starts with us listening to you

Once we're on-site, we'll listen to your concerns and answer your questions.

We will look over the area with you where you want to place, replace, or repair an existing paving project. We’ll inspect the condition of the existing asphalt for areas of weakness like cracks, dips and heaving that would point to subbase issues.

We’ll inspect the integrity of the subbase. The subbase (area beneath your paving project) is the most important part of the paving process. The subbase needs to be solid to ensure there is no movement in the newly placed asphalt. A good subbase will prevent cracks and dips and ensure your new asphalt will last for many years into the future.

We can then determine and recommend repairs or replacement of the base material and repairs or replacement of the existing asphalt or construction of a new roadway, parking area or other paving project.

Step 2

Quotation, agreement, and scheduling

Once the information is collected, our quoting specialist will write up the specifications and calculate the cost of your project based on the work required. The quote will be sent to you by the next day by email, though typically on the same day as your call.

Our quotes are fully itemized and outline the specifications of each part of the project. After you have looked over the quote and have decided to proceed, we can then schedule your project as soon as possible and accept a deposit.

Step 3

Development and planning

After your deposit has been accepted, our design specialist works with our other departments to develop a worksite plan that outlines the specific work required unique to your project.

Step 4

Prep work and paving completion

On the scheduled day. The prep crew will arrive at the site. If this is new construction we will begin by prepping the subbase for new asphalt. If it is a repair or replacement we would begin removing the existing surface, whether it is asphalt or concrete and haul it away.  A&D Asphalt recycles 100% of the old asphalt and old concrete is hauled away to a recycling center. Making the choice to use A&D Asphalt Solutions for your paving project is both a green and environmentally friendly choice.

If your project quote contains prep work, the prep crew gets to work preparing the subbase for the top layer of asphalt. The subbase is the most important part of your new asphalt driveway. The prep crew will do a secondary examination of the subbase for soft areas, tree roots, water drainage problems and other faults. If necessary, the subbase is excavated below the surface to replace the underlying soft clay or soil with stronger aggregate material in those areas. We can also excavate to remove the entire area and if necessary, install Geo Grid for problem areas. All the excavated material is hauled away.

Once the new subbase is installed, new asphalt is evenly placed using our asphalt paver. Once the asphalt has been placed, the entire surface is smoothed and compacted down to achieve the quoted thickness using our roller truck.
